Tasting Note
This Blanc de Blancs - the inaugural sparkling white from precocious newcomer Coates & Seely - is a youthful, elegant, thrilling addition to the quality English sparkling wine scene. Flashing gold in the glass with a rich, persistent mousse and seemingly inextinguishable stream of bubbles, the nose is freshly sliced green apples with a discreet vanilla and soft brioche escort adding depth. Crisp, grippy acidity is complimented by a beautifully balanced palate, where the zippy apple above goes toe-to-toe with a touch of honey and bright, juicy orange citrus. A fine wine that is both svelte and suave. Drinking delightfully now, but should be even more interesting in six months.
